Kabbalah in Reality

In the teachings of Kabbalah, the world is created with words and letters, the building blocks of creation. Through combination of letters, it creates unique characteristic of everything in existence.

The Kabbalah suggests that at first there was nothing, but when God said “Let there be light”, then light was created through this creative force and also applying to each every detail of the creation. The creation was not a one time event. Therefore, God continuously spoke the words of creation. If God were to stop speaking the words of creation, the whole universe would disappear.

This idea suggests that human beings have the ability to create with their own words. The things in life is brought by the words being used, so when you stop or change the use of words, there would exist a creation of something completely new. Just as the creation of the universe started with words and is continuously sustained with words, creative processes also started and sustained with words.

Try to speak words like sad, tired, ugly, lonely, hate, threatened, disconnected, bitter, angry, stupid, danger, troubled, weak, burdened, helpless, impossible, I can’t do it, I’m a failure... You would notice that you feel the negativity inside you. It is difficult to achieve your goals when you think this way, thinking negative.

Now try to speak with words like happy, proud, joy, safe, free, success, fresh, trust, love, power, harmony, beauty, peace, prosperity, confidence, I can do it, I am talented, I have what it takes... This time you would feel the words create positive effects. You become confident of what you are doing, of how you could achieve your goals. These kinds of words create the feeling of positive actions, the feeling that drives you to move on straight forward.

Life’s process should not be determined by fixed ideas about who you are or the things you or you cannot do. It is a continuous process as you go along with life, a never-ending development. If you believed a certain idea when you were still young, chances are that throughout your whole life you will be bringing that the same idea, avoiding influences by other people around you. Considering the ideas that you believe in, this does not make you unusual. It is a fact that everyone has his or her own beliefs which are fixed ideas about who they and they are not.

The Kabbalah explains this principle in a deeper meaning.

When Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden, they experienced a whole new world, a world of pain, death, struggle, and hardship. These were linked to human beings as feelings of shame, guilt, fear, failure, and the sense of being rejected. And as human beings, there is a drive to reject and overcome these feelings. It is difficult to overcome these feelings as it takes a huge amount of time and effort. But these negative feelings are not considered as a problem or a mistake but actually have a Divine purpose.

In the teachings of Kabbalah, it is said that God created the whole world only after looking into the Torah. This explains that God already foresaw the events that will happen in the Garden of Eden, including the eating of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, even before He created the world.

God did not intend to make human beings as passive receivers of His generosity. Instead, God gave humans the possibility of being true partners in creation. It was the greatest gift of all, intended only for human beings and even the most holy angels did not receive it.

Human beings are disconnected and limited to the understanding of truth thus receiving the ability to apply free choice. Free choice would mean the ability of one’s self to create something new, the power to change darkness into light.

The world is the place of learning. Through difficulties and hardships humans learn important lessons in life. The sole purpose of creation is transformation. It is the purpose of trying to be close to God; to overcome limitations of the physical body and mind.

By following this principle will you be able to change your life that is an expression of your own highest potential. By doing so will you create a living world, a place where there is peace and happiness.

Kabbalah looks at death as a time where learning is processed, a time to correct mistakes and refresh the souls, until the time of reincarnation comes. It serves as a guide for human beings, the blueprint for creation. The studying of Kabbalah will give you ideas and understanding of the nature of your own soul and the world around you.
